Cedartown students recently competed Skills USA competition against other students from Region 1 Skills USA competition. The event was held at Coosa Valley Technical College in Rome.
Among other categories, students competed in the Teamworks competition. Four students worked together, combining masonry, carpentry, plumbing and wiring in order to complete a project.
The Welding Fabrication event is also a team contest with three students that must work together to fabricate a project using a variety of welding and fabrication skills.
All the other contests are individual competitions in which students compete against as many as 15 other students from other area high schools.
All first and second place winners will continue to compete at the Skills USA Georgia state competition in Atlanta April 16-18.
First place winners from the state competition will advance in June to the national level in Kansas City.
