The Polk County Board of Elections has released the names of candidates who have qualified for the July 31 primary and November Election.

Sheriff: Incumbent Democrat J. Kelly McLendon, and Republican candidates Michael McGee, Johnny S. Moats, Randy C. Steward and Mike Sullivan.

Tax Commissioner: Incumbent Rebublican Dorothy C. Wood Republican Mike Hogg and Democrat Kathy M. Cole.

County Commission District I: Republican Billy Croker and incumbent Cleve Hartley. Both candidates are running as Republican.

County Commission District 2: Ray Barber, Scott McCray, Howard Smith and incumbent Ricky Clark, all Republican.

County Commission District 3: Stefanie Drake Burford and incumbent Larry Lamar Reynold, both Republican.

Board of Education District 3: Incumbent Democrat Tim Turner and Republican Scottie Worthington.

Board of Education District 6: Republican Harold L. McDurmon.

Coroner: Incumbent Republican Lester "Trey" Litesey III.

Surveyor: Incumbent Democrat W. Vann Angel.

Chief Magistrate: Incumbent Republican Jean Crane.

Probate Judge: Republican candidates Bobby Berskey and Linda H. Smith.

Clerk of Superior Court: Incumbent Republican Sheila Wells.

The deadline to qualify for office was noon today.
