A parked car also was damaged in the incident.
Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome said the preliminary investigation shows that there was a collision between a Honda Pilot SUV, which was driving west on Girard Avenue, and a Kia Rio sedan, which was driving north on Main Street.
The Honda Pilot struck the Kia Rio in the rear passenger side quarter panel, Newsome said. The impact put the smaller Kia into a spin and the car jumped the curb and bounced into the parking lot at Bradford's Drugs and Gifts, he said.
The Kia then struck the left front wheel area of a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep's owner was inside a nearby business at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Honda Pilot was not injured and there was no obvious damage to the vehicle. The Kia's driver was taken by ambulance to Polk Medical Center for treatment. She reportedly was in stable condition.
At presstime, police were still interviewing witnesses to the accident. It was not immediately determined who was at fault in the accident, and no charges had been filed at the time of this posting.
