The names of the 34-year-old victim and the 93-year-old driver are not being released at this time, said Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome.
Newsome said he doesn’t anticipate any charges being filed in the incident.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. in from of Grand’s Food Store, 724 South Main St.
The man was struck by a Mercury Mountaineer, which is a mid-size SUV, Newsome said.
Newsome said EMS crews wanted to airlift the victim to Atlanta, but the weather prevented an airlift. The nearest trauma center is in Rome, he said.

The victim was taken for medical treatment by ambulance.
Traffic has been slowed near the accident scene, with one lane reportedly blocked.
There is no word yet on the medical conditions of those involved in the accident.
