According to Matt Johnson, Rockmart has received the design for their rivalry shirt against Cedartown. The money raised from the shirts goes to the Renaissance program.
“We are going with the classic wild west showdown theme, with the Yellow Jacket lassoing up and riding a helpless Bulldog,” Johnson stated.
The shirt is $10 and will be sold in the front office at Rockmart High School.
Also on Thursday, Aug. 30, Rockmart will host the burning of the Bulldog pep rally. The event will start at 7 p.m. at the Rockmart football field.
“We are kicking off the outdoor pep rally with the band and color guard performing their halftime routine for the first time for the public to see,” Johnson stated. “Cheerleaders will lead the crowd through several cheers, accompanied by the band, and we will walk a replica Bulldog over to an awaiting bonfire in anticipation for the days following rivalry game.”
