The relatives of two prisoners will appear at the press conference Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Georgia Capitol to urge state officials to improve work and living conditions for the state's inmates.
The rally is organized by a group calling itself the Concerned Coalition to Respect Prisoners' Rights.
The Georgia Department of Corrections was forced to lock down four prisons in December after authorities discovered that inmates were launching the protest. The inmates said the protest was coordinated using contraband cell phones.
