Just around the corner, the Annual Cedar Valley Arts Festival will once again be here.

The Cedartown Junior Service League is hard at work to make this year even more spectacular. Once again, the Arts Festival will be held at historic Peek’s Park on College Street and will take place the weekend of April 30 and May 1.

The festival will kick off that Saturday morning with the annual 5K Road Race and Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. and will end with a Family Movie Madness at 8 p.m. Then on Sunday, the festival will be re-opened from noon–5 p.m, featuring lots of musical performers.

Along with lots of arts and craft vendors, the league has scheduled lots of fun activities for families, including a booth for children to make Mother’s Day gifts. Most importantly, the festival will feature local children’s artwork from all the surrounding schools. Children’s artwork is judged and awarded prizes on Saturday.

This year, there will be a children’s author performing along with lots of new vendors and entertainers. Entertainment will include some local performers like Second Steps Dance Studio and local school choirs to some out of town performers from many different genres.

The league hopes the addition to the Movie on Saturday night will provide families the opportunity to get together and enjoy a family night in the park.

There is still time and space to reserve a booth at the festival. If interested, contact Lisa Haney at 770-324-2216 or Molly Jordan at 770-324-3670.

People may also still register for the 5K road Race and Fun Run at the link on the league’s website, at cedartownjsl.org.

The Cedartown Junior Service League is a non-profit organization that serves the children of Polk County.
