Two injured in altercation Sunday

A Sunday night shooting in Rockmart ended with a man in the hospital and his wife suffering from injuries, according to a friend of the family.

Official reports state the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. at the corner of College Street and Hogue Avenue.

The Rockmart Police Department, who is handing the investigation, has not yet released detailed information or a written report.

A friend of the victims, who asked to not be identified, said the injured parties are a man who was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital because of injuries, and a woman who was had injuries to the face. The woman was not hospitalized.

The Rockmart Journal has not been able to confirm the identities of the victims at this point.
