WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Authorities say two wildfires burning in south Georgia are now mostly contained.

The Florida Times-Union reports that the Race Pond Fire south of Waycross is 64 percent contained. Authorities said Sunday that the fire has been relatively dormant in the past few days as firefighters continue to build containment lines and suppress hot spots.

Authorities say another blaze near the Okefenokee Swamp - the Honey Prairie Fire - is about 80 percent contained. Fire officials say that fire has burned much of the southern half of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge since lightning started it April 28.
