The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, July 12:

1. The Vegitable market in Cedartown will open at 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 at Peek’s Park parking lot. The market will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Friday or until the vegetables are sold. For more information, call the Polk County Extension office at 770-749-2142.

2. First Baptist Church of Cedartown is having day camps this summer. The age groups and dates are, grades 4-6, July 12-15; grades 1-3, July 25-29; grades 4-6, Aug. 1-5; and ages 4-6, Aug. 8-10. Call 770-748-6291 for more information.

3. The Polk County Board of Elections has a meets every second Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. at 144 West Ave. Sweet D.

4. The “Open Studio Pottery” continues every Tuesday, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center, Suite 102. This is a work at your own pace pottery class with instruction, materials, glazing, and firing included in the low price of $12 per person.

5. The Polk County Board of Commissioners will meet in the meeting room of the Georgia Highway Patrol Building, Cline-Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown as follows: today at 7 p.m. in regular meeting.
