The Senate Democratic Caucus announced its priorities for the 2012 General Assembly on Tuesday, including several bills they plan to introduce next week. One would create a permanent funding source for the state ethics commission and seek to make the agency independent from the Legislature.
Two others would create independent panels on redistricting and to review the effectiveness tax subsidies. Two more bills would allow voters to register on Election Day and online. One would create a three-year moratorium on so-called "HOT lanes," and another would require 80 percent of fees collected for specific programs to be used for the purpose stated.
Democrats are the minority party in the Legislature.
