GDOL will help The Hon Company recruit workers in Cedartown Wednesday

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Cedartown Career Center will help The Hon Company fill about 30 jobs for forklift operators Wednesday, June 27, to work at the company’s local facility.

The recruitments will be held from 8-10 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. at the career center, located at 262 North Park Boulevard.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have at least two years of forklift experience. Also, a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) is preferred, but not required, by the employer. Workers must be able to do simple mathematics, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals and fractions. They must also be able to read and interpret charts, schedules, production logs, and simple drawings.

Work schedules are for the second shift from 2-10 p.m. and the third shift from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The salary is $10.75 an hour.
