The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, June 27:

1. The Cedartown Wal-Mart will host senior day every Wednesday at 9 a.m. Seniors are invited to enjoy coffee, donuts and muffins as well as five games of bingo with prizes for the winners.

2. Cedar Spring will hold Vacation Bible School June 27-29 from 9 a.m. to noon for ages 3 to 18. This years VBS theme is “Soliders of God.” The church van will be available for pickups locally.

3. The Polk County Board of Commissioners will meet on June 27 at 9 a.m. in the commission meeting room at the Georgia State Patrol to renegotiate the distribution formula for the Local Option Sales Tax.

4. The House Outreach Ministry, 663 Bethel Church Road, Silver Creek, will offer meals to any child under 18 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 5 through July 26 at 11 a.m. There are no income requirements. For more information call 706-936-0942.

5. Kids in Recovery meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cedartown Library for kids ages 12 to 19-years-old with substance abuse problems. For more information call Pastor Sims, 770-546-0772.
