Wellis wins Cedar Valley Invitational

The Cedar Valley Golf Course in Cedartown hosted their Invitational Tournament recently, with Jeremy Wellis winning the 2012 tournament.

Wellis shot a 69 on day one and a 64 on day two to finish with a two-day total of 133, three shots ahead of the second place finisher in the Championship ‘A’ flight. Nico Van Remsburg placed second with a two-day total of 136. He shot a 69 on day one and a 72 on day two.

Rick Arnold, who was three shots ahead of Wellis and Van Remsburg going into day two, placed third. Arnold fired a 66 on day one but carded a 72 on day two to finish with a 138 total score.

In the Championship ‘B’ flight, David Black came away as that flight’s winner. Black shot a 76 both days to finish with a 152. Chad Naugher finished one stroke behind, with a total of 153 after carding a 78 and a 75, respectively.

Mike Granoto came in third in the Championship ‘B’ flight, firing a 78 on day one and a 80 on day two to finish with a 158.
