Mrs. Carolyn Hazel Bone Cantrell, 75, of Taylorsville passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1936 to the late Sharon Bone and the late Violet Shipp Bone.

Mrs. Cantrell retired from Taylorsville Elementary School and was a faithful member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She loved working with children both at school and at church. Mrs. Cantrell worked 29 years in Vacation Bible School with perfect attendance. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharon and Violet Bone; brothers, Richard and Lawson Bone; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Alma Cantrell and a nephew.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gene Cantrell; daughters, Debra (Johnny) Payne, Peggy (Bob) Allen and Gail (Matt) Fowler;

son, Jeff Cantrell; sister, Joyce (Ray) Lawrence; brother and sisters-in-law, Elaine (James) Dupree, Lamar (Linda) Cantrell, Betty Sue (Melvin) Scott, Catherine (Alton) Hustetler, Rufus (Kathy) Cantrell, Raiford (Linda) Cantrell, Mark (Patricia) Cantrell, Bill (Sue) Cantrell, James (Billie Ann) Cantrell and host of extended relatives.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Taylorsville with Pastor Brent Edwards and Rev. Ricky Roberts officiating. Interment services followed in the family lot of the church cemetery.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Billy Ward, L. C. Cornwell, Glenn Wimpy, Chad Cox, Al Turner, Herb Goodwin, Charlie Cox, Van Williams and Jody Rutland.
