They were served hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings. Seating was provided at tables placed in the spacious bay area where visitors sampled and commented on the delicious food.
“I enjoy a good hot dog,” said Laura Bates, Polk County Chamber of Commerce.
Ann Bentley and Elizabeth Scott agreed as they cleaned plates filled with their selections from a buffet table.
The summer showers did not prevent Lily Robinson, age 7, from enjoying a snow cone as she smiled at other visitors seeking a place to sit.
As more people lined up, Doug Swift encouraged everyone to “eat all you want.”
Redmond opened its EMS station at the Aragon Fire Department in April. To mark the occasion, a grand opening and open house activities were held.
