Two face child molestation charges in separate incidents

Two men face sex-related charges in separate incidents investigated by the Polk County Police Department, according to police records.

Peyton Bostwick, 51, of 91 Airport Road, Cedartown, is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation, first-degree cruelty to children, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to Polk County Jail records. All of the charges are felonies, according to jail records.

Bostwick, a South Carolina native who owns his own landscaping business in Cedartown and hosts a weekly gardening radio show, was arrested July 11 and remains in the Polk County Jail.

Polk County Police Department reports state two women called police about an incident or incidents occurring between Jan. 20 through Feb. 20. The alleged incidents took place in his home, according to police reports.

Bostwick had been previously arrested in October 2009 by Polk County police on charges of driving too fast for conditions, a tag light requirement, driving on a suspended license, DUI, open container and reckless driving, according to jail records.

He also faced a 2004 DUI charge in Houston County when he lived in Perry, Ga.

Polk County Probate Court records indicate the local case was turned over to Superior Court. However, there are no records of the case in the Polk County Clerk of Court.

The outcome of the Houston County case is unknown.

In a separate incident, Charlie Jacob Anderson, 22, of 2565 Cartersville Highway, Rockmart, remains in jail after his July 5 arrest on charges of rape, sodomy and first-degree cruelty to children.

According to Polk County police records, a woman filed charges against Anderson after an incident or incidents occurring between June 28 and June 29 at Anderson's residence.

Reports state police were dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. June 29 to Polk Medical Center in reference to a sexual assault. Officers met with the female complainant and forwarded the information to the investigation unit, reports state.

No other details are listed on the report.

However, Polk County Jail records state Anderson has been arrested four times before dating back to 2007. His charges in those incidents are not listed in jail records.

Polk County Clerk of Superior Court does not have listed records regarding Anderson’s previous case.

I believe this Peyton is also assistant pastor and a Sunday school teacher at his Church in Rockmart

Seems to be a sign of the times doesn't it. Hardly a day goes by we read about Church officials with sexual predator overtones. The organized church needs a lot of reorganization.
