Kasey Green, 22, of 278 Jackson Chapel Road, Cave Spring, faces charges of operating an unregistered vehicle, second-degree homicide by vehicle, reckless conduct, no proof of insurance, marijuana possess of less than an ounce and failure to maintain lane.
The reckless conduct charge is a new charge from the original report, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officials
The GSP had initiated the charges shortly after April 1 crash near Old Jackson Chapel Road which killed Keanua MacKenzie Chambers, 10, of Rome. However, Green wasn't initially arrested because she was recovering in the hospital.
Cpl. Eric Tallent, who was in charge of the case, said warrants were officially issued in early July and signed by a judge around July 12.
He said the process took time.
"We had a lot of things to look at," Tallent said. "Before I make the arrest, I wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. I wanted to check with the D.A. before making changes."

Editor's note: This story has been edited to correct a factual error. The story previously indicated Green was arrested by deputies serving a warrant.
While all information came from jail records, Green’s attorney, Lisa Johnson, said Green in fact did turn herself into the Polk County Jail Sunday July 22 and has been cooperating with law enforcement.
