She was born on Dec. 1, 1917 in Dalton, the daughter of the late John William and Mary Thompson Moody.
Ms. Dawson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marie Hackney and Stanley. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Dawson; son, Raymond E. Dawson; sisters, Trey Dingler and Ruby Moody and a grandson.
A graveside service was held Saturday, July 14 at 3 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Rebecca Holmes officiating.
