The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County this weekend, Aug. 11-12:

Saturday

A Community prayer march will be held at Turner Street Community Park at 9 a.m. Following the prayer march there will be a cookout and softball game. Everyone is invited to attend.

"Into the Woods" is playing at the Cedartown Theatre at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Horsin’ Around Fun Shows will be held in the Possum Trot Arena in Tallapoosa the second Saturday of each month until November. Registration is at 4 p.m. There will be adulat and Jr., and open classes. All proceeds benefit Rachel’s Wish Foundation. For more information, call 770-547-8104.

Sunday

Crossroads Baptist Church will air Revival Fire every Sunday at 9 a.m. on Channel 10 with Pastor Charles G. Garrett.

Abundance of Praise C.M.E. CHurch invities everyone to its praise and worship service Sunday, Aug. 12. The program wil start at 3 p.m. on the campus of Calvary Assembly of God Church, 300 Canal St. Cedartown.

Freedom Baptist Church, 770 Huntington Road, Cedartown, invites everyone to join in a “Read the Bible For Life” class every Sunday at 6 p.m. For more information, call Ben Clements at 706-936-6769 or Sherry Clements at 706-676-1053.

The tax holiday for back to school sales is going on all weekend.
