Mr. Morrow

Mr. Lenard Morrow passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

He was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oak. to the late Cecil Perry and Willie Dorthea Klepper Morrow and by the father that raised him Jack Petty.

Mr. Morrow served in the U.S. Army during WW II. During this time he served as transportation corporal in the European Theater and Japan.

After serving in the war, he married the late Betty Ruth Short in Gainesville, Texas on Oct. 19, 1946.

He and Betty owned the Duncan Bit Service in Duncan and had worked as a butcher at Frazer Meat Market on East Main in Ardmore in 1952. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was faithful until his health declined.

His hobbies include deer hunting, fishing and rodeoing. He was a lifetime member of the American Disabled Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and three sisters, Bernice, Zell and Dorothy.

Survivors include his children, Sandra Owens and husband Larry of Cedartown, James Morrow and wife Sherry of Ardmore, Mickey Morrow and wife Sharon of Ardmore and Tricia Marsh and her husband Lex of Ardmore; sister, Margie Hughes; brother. John Petty; of Wichita Falls, Texas; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Monday, July 30 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Custar officiating.

Interment followed at Provence Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers were Brian Owens, Derrick Owens, Jimmy Morrow, Shane Morrow, Jacob Marsh and James Morrow. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Dunn, Buddy Mitchell, Kevin McIntire, Josh Bullard and Johnny Jackson.
