Mr. Harold “Buddy” Davis, 77, of Taylorsville, Ga. passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1934 in the Davis Town Community of Taylorsville, the son of the late Fred Rhodes Davis and the late Clara Sproull Harris Davis.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Davis was a member and deacon of the Floyd Creek Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors included his wife, Bobbie Wilson Davis to whom he married July 4, 1957; two sons, Kenneth Ross Davis and his wife Toni and Richard “Rick” Davis and his wife B.J.; two grandchildren and two sisters, Nancy Richards and Sarah Evans all of Taylorsville.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m. in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Fisher and Rev. Tommy Harris officiating. Interment services followed in the family lot of the church cemetery with Rev. Charlie Timms officiating.

The following nephews served as pallbearers: Bill Hunt, Jimmy Wilson Jr., Justin Hardin, Allen Evans, Harvey Evans and Scott Garrett.

Deacons of Floyd Creek Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
