The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Aug. 22:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Cedartown High School’s DECA Club is selling “Raid the Rock” T-shirts this week in preparation for the Friday, Aug. 31 game between the CHS Bulldogs and the Rockmart High School Yellow Jackets football teams. The T-shirts are available to the public for $10 at the front office at CHS. Proceeds support DECA activities throughout the year.

3. Rockmart High School has shirts about the upcoming Cedartown football game that will go on sale Friday, Aug. 24.The shirt is $10 and will be sold in the front office at Rockmart High School.

4. Kids in Recovery meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cedartown Library for kids ages 12 to 19-years-old with substance abuse problems. For more information call Pastor Sims, 770-546-0772.
