Polk County School District officials confirmed that a school bus was struck head on this morning in the county.

The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries, according to Greg Teems, student services director. There were no other injuries.

The bus had already finished its route and dropped students off at school when the wreck occurred at the intersection of Cashtown and

Prospect Road, Teems said. He said the bus driver was taking the bus home when the collision occurred.

Teems is not aware of any citations issued at this time. More details will be available later after an investigation is completed.
