The following is a list of events going on this weekend, Jan. 26-27:

Saturday

1. the Rockmart Cutural Arts Center, 316 North Piedmont AVe. Rockmart, is showing the "Art in Motion" exhibit in the gallery from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2. The Polk County Christian Coalition will again be sponsoring its “Sanctity of Life” march and memorial in downtown Cedartown on Saturday, January 26. The event will commence with a silent march from the parking lot adjacent to Polk County Farm Bureau and proceed north along Main Street to Polk County Courthouse No. 2. The march will begin at 11:45 am. The formal observance will be held on the steps of Courthouse No. 2 at noon with prayers, Scripture reading, reports from local crisis pregnancy centers and the placement of memorial crosses on the courthouse lawn.

3. There will be live comedy shows at the Purks, 330 West Ave., Cedartown, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The cost is $10 each. Tim Daley will headline from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Bell Tree in the Purks Lounge.

Sunday

1. Abundance of Praise C.M.E. Church will hold a “Church in the Park” program every second and fourth Sunday of each month. The program will start at 11 a.m. and is located at 254 Turner St., Cedartown.

2. Cedartown First Presbyterian Church will hold Sunday morning services at 11 a.m.

3. Freedom Baptist Church, 770 Huntington Road, Cedartown, invites everyone to join in a “Read the Bible For Life” class every Sunday at 6 p.m.
