CEDARTOWN -- A special ceremony honoring those that perished in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks was held just outside the City Fire Department this morning in Cedartown.

Several groups of school children were presented and pledged the American Flag, which was suspended about 65 feet in the air from the city's ladder truck.

Members from the National Guard were also present to salute the flag.

The city's warning siren also sounded in memory of lives lost.
