According to Polk County Jail records and Polk police reports:
David Michael Baker Jr., 33, of 480 Pine Bower Road was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, obstruction, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police responded to Akes Station Road after a Polk County 911 call was received in reference to a male walking down the the road with a rifle.
Contact was then made with the suspect, identified as Baker, as he was walking down Pine Bower Road.
Reports state that Baker became “very uncooperative” and ran at reporting officer Jeremy Wilkes’ vehicle with the gun in his hand.
Baker eventually dropped the weapon after repeated commands to the suspect to do so.
Baker was then arrested and transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for booking and to the Polk County Jail for housing.
Damage to property
Employees at a local gas station contacted Cedartown police recently after a woman reportedly struck a diesel gas pump with her vehicle before fleeing.
From Cedartown police reports:
Police responded to Plaza Food Mart, 1598 N. Main St., in reference to a silver Chevrolet truck driven by an unidentified white female that struck a diesel gas pump, causing an estimated $8000 in damages.
Officers viewed a tape of the incident, which reportedly showed the truck, driven by a heavy-set white female, strike the fuel pump and then leave the area.
