Skydiving World Record Holders will gather near Atlanta for the Georgia State Record Attempt this weekend, Friday
through Sunday, at Atlanta Skydiving Center in Cedartown.
The Polk County Airport is located on Cornelius Road off U.S. Highway 278 between Cedartown and Rockmart.
A spokesperson for the event, said spectators are welcome at no charge and events are scheduled throughout the weekend.
The Skydiving World Record event will begin at 12-noon Saturday.
Skydivers from all over the country will be in Atlanta to participate in, or witness this state record. Members of reserve and active military participants will be on hand for training parachute demonstrations, also skydiving competition teams on hand for Georgia Skydiving League preliminaries, finals to be held on August 30.
Expert skydivers will form the largest formation skydive ever successfully completed in Georgia.
