The Cedartown Fire Department received a special gift last week from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. The new flagpole was given and placed in honor of the late Rory A. Gibson who was a Cedartown Fire Fighter. Pictured at the dedication is Fireman Drenn Morgan, Battalion Chief Steve Manning, Pearl Gibson, Rory’s mother; Hattie Gibson, wife; James Gibson, brother; Fire Chief Sammy Stephens; Roger Gibson, father; and Larry Jones, Woodman of the World representative with local Lodge No. 6019. Manning said that this is the type of support the citizens of Cedartown give. “We are so appreciative of all the support we receive from individuals as well as businesses and civic organization,” Manning said.
