Three people sustained injuries in a four-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon on Highway 278 and Cedartown Road.

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), one of the injured was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Two others were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

However, the names and conditions of the injured are not currently available.

One of the vehicles did have a passenger as well as the driver, according to the GSP.

While the incident is still under investigation, the GSP said four vehicles were involved. Those were a 1996 Ford F150 truck, a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, a 2008 Dodge 1500 truck and a commercial 1990 International 8100 truck.

Officials believe the commercial truck, which was hauling a mobile home with an escort, was along the side of the road changing a flat tire when it became involved in the accident.

No citations have yet been issued in the crash.
