Local concerned citizens gathered last Saturday at Cedartown’s Peek Park to take part in a 9/12 T.E.A. party event under the theme "Public Servant Appreciation".

Attendees heard speeches from Trey Kelley, District Attorney Bobby Brooks, Chair of the Polk School District Board of Education Jane Holbrooks and Polk County Commissioner Larry Reynolds. Lee Kelley led the invocation and prayer for the nation.

Matt Kelley read from the "912 Project" nine principles and twelve values. The presentation of colors and pledge of allegiance were performed by Jake and Shane Smith of the Boy Scouts of America. A health care reform update was also presented.

The T.E.A.(Taxed Enough Already) party movement is a nationwide, grassroots citizen empowerment initiative to vigorously oppose reckless and irresponsible fiscal policies and programs of our Federal government. Parties were held across America on 9/12 including a major rally at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Future T.E.A. party events will be announced in the coming months. All concerned citizens are urged to attend regardless of political persuasion. These events are non-partisan and open to anyone concerned about the direction of our country.
