We would like to thank Wal-Mart, who allowed us to collect money on Aug. 1 at its store and met our profits for the day. Thanks to all patrons who came out and supported our program and team.
There are several businesses who helped with breakfast for the team either during our two-a-day practices or on our Friday morning game days. Waffle House, Vicki’s Restaurant, Bojangles, Dawsons Store, New Harmony Baptist Church, and The Plaza all gave special deals on breakfast which the football team enjoyed very much.
We have a dinner served every Friday before the game to the entire team. We have been so fortunate to have had some special churches and businesses to provide this to the team. First Baptist Church, Cedar Creek Christian Center, and Meadow Lakes.
Thank you so much for your commitment to the Cedartown Bulldogs! A special thanks goes out to the American Legion who provided dinner at a discounted cost to us. All meals have been wonderful.
We have provided brochures when you pay to park at the games for a small fee of $2 that has included your 2009 team roster, schedule of all varsity, JV, 9th grade and middle school game schedule as well as the opposing teams roster.
This brochure has also had some great coupons from local businesses for food. Dairy Queen, and Chick-fil-A we thank you for your support. This brochure has been paid for by Rome L/P Gas and we appreciate your support.
El Nopal and Hardy Realty was each kind enough to provide 50 noise beaters that we have handed out 10 sets for each business per game with their recognition.
The kids really seem to love these. Verizon Wireless-Jason Slaughter provided us with small footballs to pass out to kids 12 and under at the homecoming game. This was a big success.
We want to thank everyone who has participated in our 50/50 raffle at home games. Each winner received half of all money collected.
On Aug. 28 against Rockmart, Delilah Oxenrider won $125. On Sept. 18 against Chattooga the winner was Tonya Reynolds who won $120. This was only made possible thru all the fans that support our club. Look for us on home games to be selling tickets. You could be our next winner.
We want to thank Home Depot for their support in helping out with a landscaping project that our club did. We were asked to landscape an area behind the home side ticket booth that had no maintenance in a while. Home Depot gladly pitched in and provided workers as well as material and equipment. Our cost was very minimum. We also asked Mr. Fergusons Horticulture classes at the high school to help.
They were more than willing. It was hot the day we worked but with great participation we turned a much needed help area into a great looking maintenance free area.
We made a big C using white rocks outlined by red mulch. It turned out great and we have only heard good things about it. Home Depot also provided drinks for everyone. Thanks again!!
The club is also having a sports auction on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Goodyear Civic Center. The auction is free.
Preview items at 2 p.m. and the auction starts at 3 p.m. There will be a barbecue dinner that starts at 6:00 for $10 a plate catered by Heavenly Bar-B-Que if you would like to eat.
We have autographed jerseys, bats, baseballs, footballs, and pictures from numerous players as well as other items. Please try to attend and support your local team.
We will also be raffling of a rifle on October 16 at the Haralson County game. This is a Marlin XL-7 Bolt Action 30-06 Blued/Synthetic Stock gun. Tickets are $5 each. This is a great way to own a beautiful gun before hunting season kicks into gear good.
The Touchdown Club has a store set up called the Dog House. It is located next to the concession stand. We sale shirts, hats, drink insulators, pom-poms, noisy beaters, rally towels, car decals and stadium chairs. You may purchase your 50/50 tickets here as well as Barbecue tickets and the Rifle Raffle tickets. Come by and check the store out and let us know what you would like to see us sale for future games.
Again The Cedartown High School Touchdown Club would like to thank everyone that has helped make this season a big success. We still have three more home games and we hope everyone in the community will try to attend a game. We owe one our biggest thanks to everyone who volunteers their time to help with the club wherever they are needed. We have some great volunteers and club members. This can only be a success with everyone working together and for the team. Thanks again to ALL who support the club.
GO DAWGS!!!
