Anyone visiting Floyd Urgent Care in Cedartown on Friday, Oct. 9 would have seen a lot of pink in the office.

Members of the Floyd Urgent Care recognized a very special breast cancer survivor that day by wearing pink shirts and pink hair extensions in honor of employee Stacy Watters, and in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Watters was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb. 2009. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and is now undergoing radiation therapy.

“Since the day I was diagnosed, I have had a tremendous outpouring of love and support from not only my family but my co-workers,” she said in an email. “They have stuck by my side while I have missed a lot of work.”

Doctors and nurses alike donned ‘A League for a Cure’ shirts and Dr. Denise Crawley is planning to run with that group in the upcoming Breast Cancer 3-Day walk for a cure in Atlanta, scheduled for Oct 23-25.

“They are always willing to wear pink for me,” Watters said.
