Armed robbery reported at La Vanderia Hispana

On April 26, Cedartown police were dispatched to the La Vanderia Hispana convenience store at 337 West Ave. in reference to an armed robbery.

The complainant stated two Hispanic males entered the business wearing black t-shirts, blue jean shorts and a piece of black fabric covering the lower part of their face.

According to the complainant, the men approached the counter and one of the subjects pointed a gun at him.

The men asked for money, and upon receiving it ran out the back door.

According to reports, the men ran toward the area of Casey’s Grocery Store located on South College Street.

Police checked the area for the suspects, but negative contact was made.

The victim stated the subjects took $800 from the business.
