A Silver Creek man was arrested Friday at Complete Cash on North Broad Street after obtaining money for a title to a vehicle he did not own, jail records stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Nicholas Drew Newton, 29, of 3184 Rockmart Road, Lot 13, was arrested after police say he obtained $650 in cash from Complete Cash store after pawning a title to a 2002 Ford Taurus that he had fraudulently obtained a title for and which he legally did not own.

He was charged with felony forgery in the first degree and theft by deception.

Newton remained in jail Friday night without bond.
