Several residents campaigned for the honor of serving as King and Queen for 2010. Those residents campaigning for King of Cedar Heights were David Phillips and Jasper Wright. Mr. Jasper Wright was crowned King of Cedar Heights for 2010.
The ladies who campaigned for Queen of Cedar Heights were Brenda Dalton, Liz Green, and Barbara Hardin. Ms. Hardin was named Queen of Cedar Heights for 2010.
A special “Miss Congeniality” award was presented to Brenda Dalton because she exhibited a tremendous energy and enthusiasm during the campaign. She was quick to grab everyone who came through the front door with a request for a donation to her campaign. The residents raised approximately $400 to promote their activities at the apartment complex. Following the crowning, door prizes were given.
The celebration started with May Poles decorated at the entrance to the building. Bright spring ribbons and flowers adorned the entrance as friends and family arrived for the event.
Property Manager Patty Owens welcomed guests and residents, and Dennis McCrary presented scripture. Shon Erwin from Countryside Hospice offered a prayer, and motivational speaker Elaine Osborn from Elaine Osborn Real Estate entertained the group with jokes and fun.
The Cedar Heights Resident of the Month was announced with Ann Barnett accepting the honor for the month of May. The March Resident of the month was Jasper Wright and in April the honor went to Rae Ingram. Each month the residents vote and select the resident of the month.
